Wright's on target again

Dwayne “Gaza” Wright has been one of the Premier League’s top scorers for years and this season is no exception. The Elite Sports Club forward hit his sixth goal in five games as Elite beat George Town 2-1 at the TE McField Annex on Sunday.

Wright struck in the 23rd minute, Raheem Robinson hit Elite’s second in the 62nd and Miguel Sims pulled one back for George Town seven minutes later.

Charlo McLean and Kareem James hit Bodden Town’s goals in their 2-2 draw against Cayman Athletic who again depended on David Connolly for their strikes. He got both.

Academy have recovered from an appalling start and beat Roma United 3-2. Johan Ebanks got a brace for Academy and Fabian Malcolm the other. Dawayne Speed and Gavin Reynolds scored Roma’s.

The Scholars International game with Sunset at Ed Bush was abandoned due to torrential rain.

In the Foster’s First Division, a Denver Barnes own goal and Nathan Rodriguez strike gave Latinos a 2-1 win over Future. Richard Clarke hit Future’s goal.

North Side beat East End 3-1. Dwayne Wilson scored twice for North Side and Floyd “Irons” McKenzie got the other. Dion Brandon scored for East End.

Cayman Brac beat Savannah Tigers 3-0.
