Dog lovers get photos with Santa

Pet lovers and their furry, four-legged friends got their photographs taken with jolly old St. Nicholas at Gardenia Court in Camana Bay on Saturday morning at the second annual Santa Paws event.

The professional photography shoot and fun day for animals and friends was the second time the Cayman Islands Humane Society has held the event.

“We really had a good response and the people who came out had lots of fun,” said Leslie Walker, one of the directors at the Cayman Islands Humane Society. “We had dogs in Santa costumes, reindeer horns, and some with Christmas collars being photographed.”

After dog lovers got their photographs taken with Santa, the dogs were all given a cool treat of gelato.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Humane Society.

“The donations will go towards our animal welfare fund, which is the vet cost for all the animals,” said Ms. Walker.

There was also a special sale on doggie treats and toys from the Humane Society and Camana Bay’s Must Love Dogs store. Customers cashed in on doggie bags, cookies, cards, books, bone treats and stuffed animals.
