Cayman Brac celebrates its carnival this weekend with the annual Braccanal festivities.
A week after Grand Cayman’s Batabano carnival, residents of and visitors to the Brac will take to the streets on Saturday for the road parade and party.
Some roads will be closed to vehicular traffic for the parade, which begins at the Brac Reef Resort and ends at Public Beach.
Royal Cayman Islands Police Service advised that the following roads will be closed to accommodate the parade:
The intersection of Gerrard Smith Avenue and Bert Marson Drive to Crawford Drive via Channel Road.
South Side Road West from the Public Beach to Bert Marson Drive and Gerrard Smith Avenue. No eastbound vehicular traffic from the junction of Gerrard Smith Avenue and Bert Marson Drive. Motorists east of Public Beach will use Ashton Reid Drive and all drivers between the Public Beach and Bert Marson Drive will be required to allow participants access to the road.
The after-party will take place at Coral Isle Bar and restaurant. Police advise road users to exercise caution during the carnival.
