UPDATE 4:15 p.m. — Shamrock Road has been reopened following an accident involving a dump truck and an SUV, according to the RCIPS.
ORIGINAL: Motorists along Shamrock Road near the Ocean Club condos found themselves off-roading Wednesday around lunchtime after a dump truck tipped over and spilled a large load of marl across the busy main road.
A crash involving an SUV and the dump truck was reported just before 11:30 a.m.
As of 1 p.m. the road was still closed in both directions.

Police had no details immediately on how the incident might have occurred.
The dirt and gravel the truck was carrying spilled over all the lanes of the road headed both into and out of town.
Later Wednesday, as the Shamrock Road closure backed up traffic on Hirst Road, the alternate route to Bodden Town and the eastern districts, another accident occurred.
Witnesses reported a three-vehicle accident along Hirst Road that occurred around 2:45 p.m. where one vehicle was rear-ended and the momentum carried it forward into another car.
No serious injuries were reported in either crash.

Did Cayman Islands have a law on truck speed limit of max 40 mph ? From what I can see in the side mirror photo , it looks like the truck came around that corner too fast and hit the car in the rear and tryed to cut away and flipped over . I wonder why it took so long to get the road cleared, in other places they could have made a road in that time .
