Six Cubans repatriated

The Cayman Islands Department of Immigration repatriated six Cuban migrants, three males and three females to Havana, Cuba, on Monday, according to a government statement.

The department reports that 83 Cuban migrants remain in immigration custody on Grand Cayman, housed at various facilities, but primarily at the Immigration Detention Centre.

Cayman has housed more than 100 migrants at various times during this year as the number of Cubans attempting the risky journey to the U.S. has increased.
