Music fans will get to hear the differences between a Cayman and an American Christmas with a special concert at the Crescent in Camana Bay next month.
“A Tale of Two Christmases” will be presented jointly by the University College of the Cayman Islands and the West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
In an invitation to the public to attend the concert, UCCI President Roy Bodden described the event as a “one-of-a-kind concert [that] will celebrate the differences between Christmas in the Caribbean vis-a-vis the United States.”
The UCCI Choir and Steel Pan Band will perform a repertoire of Caribbean-inspired songs, while West Chester’s Jazz Ensemble will offer traditional jazz and big band arrangements.
The show will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. However, Mr. Bodden said UCCI would be grateful for donations to help underwrite production costs and support the UCCI Performing Arts program.
