Camana Bay eased into a healthy rhythm on Saturday, 21 Feb. as Wellness Month continued with a series of activities designed to get families moving, stretching and checking in on their health.
While some of the Wellness Expo action spilled into the Town Centre, much of it took place inside the businesses themselves, creating a walk-through experience where each doorway offered something different.
One of the busiest stops was Align, the multidisciplinary wellness clinic with locations in Camana Bay, Harbour Walk and Cayman Brac. Destiny Campbell Burrowes said the team wanted to show just how broad their services are.

“We do a range of different things – physiotherapy, chiropractic services, acupuncture, speech therapy, occupational therapy,” she said. “Today we were doing Kids’ Align Yoga. Our speech therapist, who also does kids’ and baby massage, led a yoga class for children aged 5 to 12. We had about 15 kids come out to do yoga with Miss Harmony Scott.”
For Align, she added, the message is simple: “We’re all about alignment – helping you be your best self. You can come to us for chiropractic care if your back or neck is stiff, or physio for long-term recovery. We have a sports massage therapist for deep tissue work. We’re very hands-on, and the idea is a holistic approach to wellness.”
Nearby, MyFirstGym welcomed families inside to explore its children’s fitness space. Staff guided kids through a small ninja-style course and other movement activities while parents learned about the gym’s programmes.
A nearby face painter added to the fun, giving the whole space a lively, family friendly feel.
Sofia Eldemire, marketing coordinator for Camana Bay and Dart, said the Wellness Expo was designed to highlight the many ways the Town Centre supports wellbeing.
“Today is the Wellness Expo, where we highlight all the things happening in Camana Bay that celebrate wellness in our community,” she said. “There are so many different businesses offering something unique.”
She pointed to FS8 Pilates, which offered discounted classes and refreshments from Yallah; Theory of Motion, running a plank challenge with prizes; and Health City Cayman Islands providing free screenings for blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol.
Inside The Gallery by Jason Kennedy, wellness took a more creative turn. Visitors were invited not only to admire Kennedy’s hyper-realistic portraits, but to also add their own brushstrokes to a massive communal canvas. The result was a layered, evolving artwork – part therapy, part experiment, part collective expression.

Dozens of hands added to the painting, each with their own vision. The final piece carried fragments of everyone – a reminder that creativity, too, is a kind of wellness.
Outside the gallery, young musician Deandre Scott added another dimension to the morning. With a guitar and an easy improvisational style, he filled the street with melodies made up on the spot. Scott is also one of the gallery’s emerging artists, known for his wild, experimental paintings – a fitting presence for a day celebrating movement, expression and wellbeing in all its forms.
