Every year, the exterior of Abacus restaurant in Camana Bay is transformed into a winter wonderland. A large area of The Paseo is cordoned off so revelers dressed in white have room to spread out. Not a bad idea, as every year the event grows to create one of the season’s most memorable parties.
Night to remember
Bars are set up outdoors under the stars, along with food stations, lounge areas, high-top cocktail tables and a DJ tent where some of the best talent on the island spins hit music all night long.
In previous years, there has been a $25 entry fee and a cash bar, but this year, on Dec. 23, they are making things much more simple. Rather than paying as you go or starting a tab that has to be closed at the end of the night, you pay for an all-inclusive ticket costing $125 that opens up a world of beverages and edible delights.
The “doors” open at 8 p.m. and the party finishes at 3 a.m. That amounts to 7 hours of socializing, celebrating and dancing. DJ SNDMN and DJ Selecta Renegade are in charge of the music and signature bars will handle the drinks.
Visit the French Champagne Bar or the Signature Vodka & Handcrafted Gin Bars, then stop by the Aged Rum & Fine Whiskey Bar and finally, sample fine wines from Napa Valley and New Zealand with select beers on tap.
None of your well drink nonsense is on the menu; only top shelf brands are featured. The live chef food stations will have masters of their craft creating signature tapas.
Again, as in years past, part proceeds will be donated to a local charity. This year, LIFE – Literacy Is For Everyone organization will be the lucky recipient. LIFE’s goal is “To improve the quality of life for residents of the Cayman Islands by providing supplementary literacy programs and initiatives for children and adults, and by helping to raise the quality of education in the public school system.”
