Barefoot Beach Gala for Breast Cancer Foundation

The 100 Women in Finance organization invites the public to join them for dinner and dancing under the starry Caribbean sky on March 25 for the fourth annual Barefoot Beach Gala, to be celebrated retro-beach style. Come in costume, or as you are!

The event will be at Royal Palms, and net proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Food and drink

Back by popular demand, the Veuve Cliquot champagne tent will be set up and run by 100WF volunteers. In the past, attendees have been known to stay up dancing until midnight. Worried about cooling down? Gelato & Co. will help with a full service gelato cart with accompaniments like candied popcorn, candied walnuts, brownie chunks, fresh berries, chocolate fudge sauce and caramel.

The Royal Palms’ chefs will provide party-goers with a jerk station, pig on a spit, tuna station, vegetarian wok station and taco station.

Raffle prizes

Several raffle prize packages totaling more than $12,000 will be given away throughout the evening. Raffle highlights include a Miami Getaway Package, which consists of return flights to Miami courtesy of Cayman Airways and a two-night stay at EPIC, a Kimpton luxury Miami hotel, as well as a Jetsetter Package of two flights to anywhere JetBlue flies.

Since its formation in 2013, the Cayman location of 100WF (previously 100 Women in Hedge Funds) has raised $155,000 for local charities, including the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Literacy is for Everyone, and its 2016 beneficiary, Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Breast Cancer Foundation

Established in 2009, the Breast Cancer Foundation provides support for breast cancer patients and survivors in the Cayman Islands. 100WF will be the official sponsor of the foundation’s Wellness Program, which provides support and services that may otherwise be unavailable or financially out of reach to breast cancer patients and their families.

“The Breast Cancer Foundation is honored to be selected as 100WF’s 2017 Cayman beneficiary,” the BCF board of directors noted in a statement. “We are confident that the work of BCF and our flagship wellness initiative fully resonates with the 100WF brand and their 2017 theme of Women’s and Family Health.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the 100WF Cayman location to implement this exciting opportunity and leverage the tremendous professional resources that 100WF provides.”

Leanne Golding, co-chair of the Cayman Philanthropy Committee, said, “100WF is proud to support the Breast Cancer Foundation to advance the work they do to help women and their families in our community. We look forward to many successful fundraising events and activities together in 2017.”

By popular demand, the Philanthropy Committee is also planning to bring back the Corporate Mixology Competition, which sold out in record time last year.
