Chalkfest draws crowd of young artists

Camana Bay was filled with young artists Saturday for the 14th annual Chalkfest, and more than $1,000 was raised for the outreach program of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands.

The event attracted an estimated 650 people, with 178 registered for the chalk art competition, according to event organizers. Easter-themed games, an artisan market, face painting, balloon animals and story reading were all part of the day’s entertainment.

Competition winners will be announced Tuesday.
