There will be changes to the road layout at the Linford Pierson Highway from Monday, April 16. The National Roads Authority advised that the new layout, which is part of the ongoing road widening project, would last for six weeks.
The west-bound lane, heading toward George Town, between Halifax Road and Rankin Drive will merge from two lanes to one lane. After Rankin Drive, the road will open back up to two lanes. Additionally, the roundabout near Agnes Way will be functional.
The National Roads Authority suggests that drivers adjust their travel times, particularly in the morning rush hour, during the next four to six weeks while the work is under way.
“Motorists will have seen an improvement in traffic flow over the past few months, and we encourage them to be patient while these works are carried out to complete the project,” Marion Pandohie, NRA transportation planner, said in a press release.
She added, “NRA apologizes for the inconvenience these changes will cause, but the changes are necessary and are temporary. In the end it will all be worth it.”
