Chamber webinar to highlight government’s COVID-19 assistance

The Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development for the third in a series of free webinars designed to provide information and guidance to businesses struggling to cope with the impact of COVID-19.

The session on Friday, 17 April, will give micro and small businesses information about how they can benefit from government’s recently announced COVID-19 micro- and small-business economic-relief measures.

“The purpose of this third webinar is to provide businesses with information about the various resources that are available as part of the Government’s assistance package and to respond to any questions they may have,” said Chamber CEO Wil Pineau in a press release. “We are grateful to the CICBD for hosting this webinar.”

In the webinar, representatives from the Centre for Business Development will cover the four areas of assistance given to micro and small businesses: the low-interest loan programme; micro-and small-business grants; technical assistance; and the training and handholding programmes.

The session will give participants a better understanding of the objectives of the programmes, and how they can qualify and apply for assistance, the Chamber said.

The webinar will also include a question-and-answer session to clarify how the programmes are applied in specific circumstances.
