The Water Authority-Cayman is waiving penalty fees for failure to pay water bills for April, the company has announced.
The utility company said the move was introduced to help customers facing financial hardship during the COVID-19 emergency.
It comes in addition to the COVID-19 payment-deferral policy the authority developed to assist people who are temporarily out of a job due to the pandemic.
The company is urging customers who have been impacted to email the Water Authority about the deferral policy at [email protected].
Online payments
The company pointed out that customers seeking to make a payment can do so online by visiting www.waterauthority.ky and clicking the ‘Pay My Bill’ button on the home page, online via local banks, or by cheque using the authority’s dropbox at its Red Gate office. Customers that need to make cash payments can do so at the counter of their local bank branch.
Customers can still conduct business with the authority electronically, and its customer service team can be contacted at [email protected].
Cayman Brac customers who require trucked water can continue to make requests by calling 948-1403.
For more updates, and important messages from the authority, customers can visit the website www.waterauthority.ky and social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
