A suspicious package found by a member of the public near a derelict vehicle in George Town led police to recover 4 pounds of what appeared to be ganja.
A police statement issued Thursday afternoon said shortly before 2:30pm on Wednesday, 6 Oct., officers responded to a report that a package had been found on Durham Drive, near a derelict vehicle.
K-9 officers visited the scene and recovered the package, which contain what they believed to be ganja.
The RCIPS said, following a further search, the police dog directed officers to the trunk of another derelict vehicle at the location.
The vehicle was searched and four additional packages containing ganja were recovered, along with drug paraphernalia and other items.
In total, about 4 pounds of suspected ganja was recovered.
No arrests have yet been made in relation to the matter, which is currently under investigation.
