Police are investigating at armed robbery on Tuesday night, in which one man was injured, at Archie’s Bar, in Shedden Road, George Town.
Just after 7:10pm, police responded to a report that two people had been assaulted and robbed at the bar by two armed and masked robbers. One of the robbers brandished a handgun, while the other had a knife.
By the time police arrived at the scene, the robbers and the victims had left the scene.
The two victims had left by private vehicle, with one of them attending hospital due to injuries he sustained to his upper body, police said.
“The injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening and he was later discharged,” police said in a statement.
Police did not specify how the man has sustained his injuries.
According to the RCIPS statement, their officers were informed that two armed men approached the victims and demanded money and valuables.
“It is believed that the men made off on foot in an unknown direction, with a quantity of cash,” police said.
