Police have arrested a 51-year-old man from West Bay in connection with an aggravated burglary and wounding incident, which occurred on 31 Dec.

The man was subsequently granted bail, according to a press release from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

It comes after the arrest of a 24-year-old West Bay man, who has also been bailed, with conditions, while investigations continue.

Police said at the time that two people had suffered serious injuries in the incident, and another person had received minor injuries. All three were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

According to the initial information provided by police, there had been disturbance at a residence on Flute Lane shortly before midnight on 31 Dec. Several people reportedly exited a dark truck wielding machetes at the address, where a gathering was taking place.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone with information, to contact West Bay Police Station on 949-3999.
