Breast Cancer Foundation plans to ‘Light Up The Night’

This year, instead of balloons, participants will carry reusable lit batons.

Every year, a swath of pink makes its way along the sand to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

On 5 March at 7pm, friends and family will once again walk together, starting from Seven Mile Public Beach, to raise awareness and share support for those battling the disease. The turnaround point is The Ritz-Carlton.

In the past, participants have carried pink balloons, but in the interest of protecting the environment, this time they will have glowing batons to light the way. These reusable items will be collected at the end of the evening, and used again for future walks.

Registration begins at 6pm. The fee to enter is $25 per person and includes a raffle ticket. Under-10s are free. Brilliantly pink T-shirts will be donned by one and all, creating an impressive sight under the stars.

The foundation has had many breast cancer patients to assist in the past year, and with no gala in 2021, it is more important than ever for people to come out and support the cause. The work the foundation does endeavours to ensure that no one diagnosed feels alone or is without care at one of the hardest times in their lives.
