After a two-year hiatus, one of the most popular fundraising fitness events is back in business.
The Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge will be happening in Grand Cayman on 24 April, starting at a brisk 6:30am from the Government Administration Building in George Town.
Deputy Governor Franz Manderson spearheaded this walk/run as part of his own fitness journey several years ago, and it has become a firm favourite on the calendar for all ages as a community booster as well as an important supporter of charities.
The theme for 2022 is ‘Helping Today – Protecting Tomorrow’ with the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, the MS Foundation of the Cayman Islands and the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands benefitting from the money raised.
Entry fees are $25 for adults 18 and over, and $10 for children 17 and under. Online registration can be found here. All participants are encouraged to bring their own bottles of water and there will be water stops along the route.
If you miss the Grand Cayman 5K, never fear! The Little Cayman version has been postponed until 1 May, so just fly over and join in the fun.
