Family fun games at George Town Library

Jigsaw puzzles will be one of the games available on the day.

I know this makes me sound officially old, but I have to say that when it comes to having fun with others, you can’t beat a rousing round of Monopoly, Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, or any classic board game.

Yes, technology is fantastic and all that, but it usually involves people with their noses buried in their individual devices, rather than interacting with each other.

In the hope of getting friends and family to connect across a table, the Cayman Islands Public Library Service is inviting the public to ‘Game Time: Family Fun Day’ at the George Town Library on Saturday, 23 July, starting at 10am.

“Game Time is a wonderful opportunity for board game and tabletop enthusiasts to work together whilst completing jigsaw puzzles, or as individuals as they engage in a friendly game of chess, checkers, dominoes, or Jenga in the library setting,” said CIPL acting director Kevin Goring.

Games are available for all ages, with anyone 2 years and older welcome to join in. Entry is free with no need to register. There will also be a prize raffle and refreshments, so people are encouraged to show up early to make the most of everything on offer.
