An American woman has died after encountering difficulties while out on a boat dive Friday morning.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, a spokesperson for the RCIPS said officers received a report of a person in distress shortly before 9:50am that day.
“It was reported that a woman had been out diving when she experienced difficulties,” reads the press release. “The woman was brought back on board the boat by which time she had become unresponsive. She was brought back to shore and emergency services attended the location and transported her to the Cayman Islands Hospital via ambulance, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.
The woman, aged 70, was a visitor from the US. Her Identity has not been released by police.
