Police are searching for three men who escaped capture in the early hours of Tuesday morning after their drug boat was intercepted in East End by Coast Guard officers.

The men were last seen in the vicinity of Paradise Villas.

Police said two firearms and a large amount of ammunition, as well as packages containing more than 250 pounds of ganja, were found on board the boat.

Coast Guard officers attempted to arrest the men after their boat was spotted approaching the shore at high speed by a patrol vessel off the shore of East End around 2am, police said.

The Coast Guard vessel moved to stop the boat and the men abandoned it, fleeing onto the shore, crossing the main road near Paradise Villas and escaping into nearby bushes.
