Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the murder of Ian Duffell in West Bay earlier this month, including a motorist who shouted at the killer while driving past during the attack.
Duffell, 51, was killed in a stabbing on Friday, 14 Oct., shortly before 11pm, on Birch Tree Hill Road, near Joe and Osbert Road.
In an appeal issued on Thursday, the RCIPS called for witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.
“Investigators know that the incident was witnessed by persons driving by, and that a driver shouted to the assailant in an attempt to stop the assault,” the RCIPS said, adding that “any information they can provide, however small, could assist with this investigation”.
A 43-year-old was arrested the day after the killing, but has not been charged.
Witnesses are being encouraged to call the RCIPS Major Incident Room at 649-2930. Alternatively, anonymous tips may be submitted through the police website.
