Three men accused of robbing a man of $40 at gunpoint have denied the charges.
As the allegations were read out in court on Friday, 28 Oct., Devon Emmanuel Wright stood in the dock, while co-accused Alvin Shaquille Ebanks and Richard Lee Hydes listened on via video link from Northward prison.
On the first charge of robbery, Wright and Ebanks have both been charged. They are alleged to have robbed a man at an Esso gas station along Dorcy Drive on 29 March this year and made off with $40.
The second charge of conspiracy to commit robbery arises from the same date, and alleged that all three men planned the robbery prior to its commission.
The third and final charge is one of possession of an unlicensed 9mm handgun which was alleged to have been used by Wright to commit the robbery.
The men have denied all the charges and a jury trial has been set for March 2023.
Although Wright was the only defendant to attend court in person, all three men were granted bail. However, at the time of the hearing, Ebanks and Hydes were unable to meet their bail conditions.
