Mo ‘staches mean mo money for Cancer Society

Yes, it is that time again, when men’s upper lips gird their loins, prepping to become hairy in November.

Renamed ‘Movember‘, the 11th month of the year is set aside for a fundraiser that has become a worldwide phenomenon. Participants sign up to grow impressive moustaches for 30 days, and get sponsors, in order to raise money for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Although the concept is always fun and entertaining, there’s no laughing at the amount of money that has been raised over the years – $800,000 and counting. Movember has become one of the organisation’s biggest sources of donations, and the hope is that records will be broken this time around.

As usual, there are multiple events on the calendar for people to attend, and on the final night, awards will be handed out in a range of categories.
