Police have arrested and charged a second man in connection with the armed robbery of a customer in Scotiabank on Crewe Road.
The 47-year-old from George Town was originally arrested on 25 June when he was released on bail with strict conditions pending further investigation.
He was charged on 4 July with one count of robbery, three counts of attempted robbery and one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence.
The man appeared in court today, 5 July, and was remanded into custody pending a further appearance on Friday, 7 July.
A police report at the time of the offence said two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a customer at the bank at about 11:10am on 16 June before making off on foot.
A member of the public who witnessed the robbers fleeing the bank, chased them in his vehicle to Old Crewe Road, where he intercepted one of the men.
Both offenders then ran into a bush area beside the road.
Police arrested a 27-year-old George Town man. He was charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm with intent to commit robbery.
