Three men appeared in Summary Court on 23 April charged with an armed robbery at a George Town jewellery store.

It is alleged Othniel Williams, 29, and Hank Robinson-Porter, 25, used a handgun and a baseball bat to rob Rocky’s Diamond Gallery on North Church Street on the morning on Monday, 20 April.

It is further alleged that they fled with some jewellery to a waiting car, said to be driven by co-accused Gage Rivers-McLean, and drove away.

Williams is alleged to have run from the car on George Town’s Shedden Road as police followed it. The car was later stopped by police and the other two men arrested.

The court was told Williams was later arrested as he tried to board a flight to Jamaica at the airport.

The three men were not required to enter pleas as the case must be heard in the Grand Court.

Chief Magistrate Angelyn Hernandez remanded Williams and Robinson-Porter in custody until Friday, 1 May.

Rivers-McLean was released on bail until the same date under strict conditions which include a 24-hour curfew, the wearing of an electronic monitor, surrender of his passport and a ban on any kind of contact with the other two defendants.
