
The Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries in the Inter-American region, which covers more than 40 countries, has elected Caymanian Rohan Riley to serve as its president for the term 2023-2026.
Riley, an elder at the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventist church, was elected at the 25th anniversary convention, held at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on 16-19 Aug.
He replaces Marston Thomas as president of the division.

This year’s convention included four days of seminars, devotional services and meetings, which were addressed by leaders in government, the private sector and the church, a press release on the event noted.
Among the speakers at the convention were Governor General of Jamaica Sir Patrick Allen, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett, Tobago’s Chief Minister and Secretary of Finance Trade and the Economy Farley Chavez Augustine, Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica Rungsung Masakui, and executive secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Inter-America Division Leonard Johnson.
The Inter-American Division covers 42 countries in the Caribbean and Central American region, including Mexico and Venezuela, and has 22,000 churches and more than 3 million members.
The Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries is a membership-based organisation of the church, comprising business owners, professionals and self-supporting ministries. Its chapters exists on all continents and their activities are focused on various outreach programmes, including health, education, evangelism, community services, family concerns and special projects.
