A man begged two unsuspecting victims for money before threatening them with a knife and stealing their cash in George Town on Tuesday, 26 Sept.
The first incident took place before 6:15pm on Courts Road near Eastern Avenue, according to a police press release.
The victim was approached by an unknown man on a bicycle who asked them for one dollar. As they opened their wallet, the cyclist snatched their cash.
A struggle ensued and the man brandished a knife before fleeing the location with the contents of the wallet, according to police. No one was injured.
Shortly afterwards, police officers received another report of a robbery in the vicinity of Autumn Lane.
A man had approached someone and asked for money. He immediately brandished a knife and took cash from the victim before fleeing the location.
Police have said they believe both robberies were carried out by the same man who was between 5’9” and 5’11” tall and had a dark complexion.
He was wearing a bandana, marina (vest), and jeans, and was riding a grey bicycle in the first incident.
In the second incident, he was wearing a black face towel around his face and a marina, and was on foot. He is also described as missing a tooth.
