Planning and managing your people’s development is one of the most important aspects of a leader’s role.

Organisations spend huge sums of money on developing their people but in many instances, there is no real accountability for the planning, management and delivery outcomes of the learning chosen.

With the current use of hybrid working arrangements for staff amongst many organisations, the need for a more focused approach to the effective management of learning and development has never been greater.

This session is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and techniques to ensure that the investment in people is strategic, focused and related to the organisation’s objectives effectively.

What do we mean by “authentic leadership”? This session looks at the key aspects of being an authentic leader. It helps participants to envisage what is required in terms of knowledge, skills and behaviours to be viewed as authentic by their people.

Authentic leaders show genuine interest in their people and the culture that is provided for them to operate within. They create and develop people-centric organisations where their employees actually want to go to on a Monday morning.

This session will look at the main traits of this leadership style and why people react to it
so positively.

Unlocking the power of employee engagement is never more relevant than in times of upheaval and change. One of the main post-pandemic challenges facing organisations has been their ability to hold on to high performing people.

This session looks at the intrinsic motivators that people today look for in their employing organisation and provides strategies for maintaining engagement with employees during times of uncertainty.

ABOUT ERIC JENKINSON

Eric has more than 33 years of experience across all sectors working in the sphere of business improvement.

Most of that time he has concentrated on organisational culture improvement and leadership development. His view is that they both go hand-in-hand – good leadership needs to be in place to create positive culture change in an organisation.

Eric has a real passion for seeing leaders develop their skills and behaviours and witnessing the positive outcomes of building a people-centric culture.

He has been a guest speaker at the Cayman Islands Society for Human Resources Professionals (CISHRP) Conference on three occasions and has published papers for a number of UK and European universities. He published his first book titled ‘Moving Horizons’ in 2018.

To date, Eric’s clients have won five International Investors in People Awards. He believes that authentic leaders give back to the community and, as such, is Ambassador for the Amy Foundation, a charity supporting underprivileged children in Cape Town, South Africa.
