It’s time to tune up your taste buds as Cayman Restaurant Month returns in October with a smorgasbord of culinary offerings.
Celebrating Cayman’s local dining scene, the month-long event presents a prime opportunity to try out new restaurants and dishes or revisit tried-and-true favourites.
Participating restaurants create delicious three-course menus at a fixed price, starting at just $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner.
From seafood and Italian cuisine to Mexican and vegan offerings, there’s something for everyone’s taste buds, with each restaurant putting its own unique spin on the menu.
Brunch is an island institution in Cayman, with last year’s inaugural signature brunches a
big hit. This year will once again see four signature brunches, one every Sunday, offering breakfast and brunch items, along with bottomless bubbly.
Originally launched as a week-long event in October 2010, Restaurant Month has grown
to become a much-anticipated culinary experience. Last year saw the largest participation, with a total of 37 restaurants from across the island taking part, collectively offering more than 55 menus for lunch, dinner and brunch.
The Edgy Vedge, a plant-based eatery and marketplace, took part for the first time in 2022. Co-founder Sian Weinzweig was impressed with the exposure it gave the restaurant, as it opened in Camana Bay just shortly before the event. “The response was great,” she says. “We sold almost 250 Restaurant Month meals. I think this year we will attract people who have not been before, which is exciting for us.”
COCKTAIL WEEK
The last week of Restaurant Month incorporates Cayman Cocktail Week. Running from 20- 27 October, the event showcases the island’s cocktail culture with an array of cocktail parties, tastings, demonstrations and interactive events.
Branded cocktail menus are available at an array of bars and restaurants – a chance to sip something new or get a great deal on a high-end cocktail created by some of Cayman’s top mixologists and bartenders.
