It’s hard to believe it’s already here again!
Movember has returned – the international fundraiser that is also strongly supported in the Cayman Islands – raising awareness about cancers that specifically affect men, while collecting funds for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.
As ever, there are many events on the calendar this month, starting with the Shave-Off on 1 Nov. All are encouraged to come out and sign up for this important initiative, while having fun at the same time.
Movember schedule
1 Nov: Movember Shave-Off @ Door No4, 6pm
MoBros get their faces shaved and receive their exclusive Movember T-shirt. A month-long awareness campaign begins, with MoBros also raising money through sponsor pledges. Ticket sales also start for the $20,000 Movember Raffle.
10 Nov: MOpen Championship Golf Day @ North Sound Golf Club, noon
Twenty-four teams of four compete in a 4-ball scramble for top bragging rights.
16 Nov: Movember Info Night @ Lions Centre, 6pm
Doctors from all the major hospitals in Cayman will be making presentations on how to prevent and detect prostate, testicular and colon cancer in men. Free PSA testing for all qualified males.
18 Nov: The Invitational Fitness Challenge @ Cricket Square, 9am
The Club at Cricket Square pits teams against each other in the ultimate test of strength and endurance, while raising funds for the CICS.
18 Nov: The Must-Dash 5K Fun Run @ The Grove, 5pm
A 5K fun run for the whole family, starting and finishing at The Grove on West Bay Road.
25 Nov: Tickle Your PickleBalls Tournament @ Pickleball Cayman on Smith Road, noon
Eighty teams of two compete in the first ever pickleball mega-tournament at the all-new Pickleball Cayman on Smith Road. A day of fun for all the family, with food and drink specials, and raffle prizes all day.
1 Dec: Closing CereMOny @ The Hive, 7pm
MoBros submit their sponsorship and compete for the 2023 Man of Movember. There will be live Music and the 50/50 raffle prize-giving.
