A 22-year old man from Bodden Town has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, in relation to a shooting that took place earlier this week, in which the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Police, in a statement issued Friday, said the man was arrested following reports of “possible criminal trespass”.
He has since been bailed by the police as investigations continue.
The shooting occurred late on Tuesday night in George Town.
The RCIPS, in a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, confirmed that the victim had been taken to hospital by ambulance and was treated for what was described as “a non-life-threatening injury”.
Officers had responded to a report shortly after 11pm that a person had been shot, and observed a man with a head wound outside a business on Eastern Avenue, near School Road. Emergency services attended the location.
Police later determined that the shooting had taken place in the vicinity of Liberty Lane.
