A 72-year-old visitor from Illinois died in a water-related incident on Wednesday, 10 April, at Cemetery Beach, West Bay.
Emergency services responded to a report of a snorkeller in distress shortly after 11:30am that day, according to an RCIPS news release issued 12 April.
People on the beach helped bring the man ashore and started conducting CPR, before emergency services arrived and took over, police said.
When police arrived on the scene, they said emergency medical services and fire personnel were conducting CPR on the man.
He was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased.
