Officers have arrested 49-year-old Patrick McKenzie in connection with a serious assault in West Bay Monday morning.
They responded to reports of an incident in the Mount Pleasant area at about 8am, in which a man allegedly entered a home and attacked a woman he knew, who reportedly sustained “several knife wounds” and was transported to hospital where she was treated and released.
The man had left the location before officers arrived.
Police eventually located and arrested McKenzie on suspicion of aggravated burglary and assault. He remains in custody while investigations continue.
