A masked man robbed an Eastern Avenue restaurant through its food service hatch and escaped on a bicycle early Monday morning, police say. 

The man appeared shortly after 1am while an employee was closing up for the night, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service. He then threatened the worker with a firearm and demanded money.

After the employee handed over the money, the man is said to have escaped on a bicycle towards Shedden Road.

The suspect was described as a male, around age 30, 5’10″ in height with a slim build and light brown complexion. He reportedly wore gloves, a mask over his face and a hooded jacket, and spoke with a Caymanian accent.
