It’s that time of year again, when divers head under the waves to not only mark Women’s Dive Day but to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Divetech is again hosting the event, which will be held at its dive centre at Cobalt Coast Resort in West Bay, on Saturday, 20 July.

The dives begin at 9:30am and will continue until the afternoon.

Divers can head into the water in their own self-guided groups, or, for those without dive buddies, they can join guided dives led by Divetech staff. Those guided dives will go out at 9:30am, 11am and 1pm, organisers said.

While exploring the reefs and seabed, the divers and snorkellers can hunt for bright pink rocks as part of an underwater scavenger hunt. Each rock has a number that corresponds with a prize.

There will also be vendors at the events, as well as a raffle.

A minimum donation of CI$30 is required to participate – 100% of which will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Air tanks and weights will be provided.

To pre-book spot, contact [email protected] or call 345-946-5658.

“The on-site restaurant and bar Nova will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with plenty of sun loungers by the pool and ocean,” Divetech owner Jo Mikutowicz said.

She added, “Divers, non-divers and all genders are welcome to come celebrate women in diving and help raise money for the Cayman Breast Cancer Foundation.”

Women’s Dive Day is an annual event created by PADI in 2015 and is celebrated within the scuba diving community to promote and celebrate women’s participation in the sport of diving.
