Avril Ward is likely best known in the Cayman Islands for her multi-media artwork.
For decades she has been creating pieces that adorn homes locally and overseas, including acrylics, oils, pastels and sculptures.
But now, she has – in her own words – set aside the business of art. This means that although she will continue to paint for pleasure, she has moved away from being a commercial artist.
Instead, she is now concentrating on an entrepreneurial venture she has set up in Pasadora Place offering a healing technique patented as the Energy Enhancement System.
THE LIGHT ROOM
Avril’s enterprise is called The Light Room, which she describes as a sanctuary for holistic health and rejuvenation.
“While fine art has been a central focus of my life, I’ve always had a passion for the intricacies of the human body,” she says.
“Being an eternal researcher, I have often sought alternative healing methods for myself and my loved ones. My belief is that we are holistic beings – comprising of body, mind and spirit – and that the body is naturally designed to heal itself.”
The Energy Enhancement System technology was developed more than 30 years ago by quantum physicist Dr. Sandra Rose Michael.
According to The Light Room website, when you spend time in the 16-unit treatment room, your body detoxes and heals.
“This multi-dimensional field affects the body in many ways,” it says. “It supercharges and raises the millivolts of each cell, facilitating cellular regeneration, giving the body more energy to self-heal.
“It induces ‘theta’ brain waves, which is conducive to meditation and calmness, hence relaxing the brain and body, bringing pain relief and elevating mood.”
The website information adds that the energy field allows both hemispheres of your brain to balance.
“The energy field has Schumann resonance, which is the frequency of the earth,” it says. “Hence you ‘ground’ while in the system, documented for significantly reducing inflammation.
“The photonic field (light therapy) is absorbed into the body. The function of DNA is to store light, absorbing this light is conducive to DNA repair. Your body achieves a state of homeostasis, allowing natural healing and rejuvenation processes to unfold.”
CAYMAN OPENING
Avril stumbled across a newly released video about the therapy while browsing the internet a couple of years ago.
“As I listened, my excitement grew,” she says. “The technology resonated deeply with me. By the end of the hour-long video, I had no doubt in my heart that I needed to bring this groundbreaking technology to the Cayman Islands.”
The Light Room opened in 2024 and since word has spread about its healing properties, more and more clients have been arriving at Pasadora Place to try it for themselves.
No cell phones are permitted in the treatment room, where clients relax on beds, wearing comfy clothing for the hourlong sessions.
“In today’s fast-paced world, our well-being is compromised by a myriad of external factors, from exposure to pesticides and chemicals in food and water, to the invisible stressors of electromagnetic fields and our stressful lifestyles,” says Avril.
“That’s where The Light Room steps in. We offer you a safe haven, utilising the Energy Enhancement System to create an optimal energetic environment specifically designed for detoxification and cellular repair.”
PASSION FOR HEALTH
Avril is no stranger to new business ventures as, aside from art, she has a painting and decorating firm, while the family also offers holiday accommodation, and has a farm growing microgreens to supply local supermarkets and restaurants.
However, The Light Room is a particular passion, due to its potential healing benefits.
“My family and I are thrilled to introduce The Light Room’s Energy Enhancement System to the Cayman Islands,” says Avril. “We believe this system represents the future of health, and we’re honoured to facilitate its adoption in our local community, empowering us all towards better health.”
