A security guard was shot in the foot in the first of two shootings in West Bay in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police arrested three men following the two shootings, which occurred within 30 minutes of each other.
A security guard at a construction site in Birch Tree Hill Road was shot in the foot in the first incident, which occurred around 1:30am, police said. No one was injured in the second shooting, at Centennial Towers, where it was reported two gunmen opened fire on two men in the carpark.
“It was reported that a security guard who was on duty at the construction site was approached by a man dressed in dark clothing. The man revealed a firearm, causing the security guard to flee,” police said in a statement regarding the first shooting.
The security guard heard shots fired, and then noticed an injury to his foot, according to the RCIPS.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he remained on Saturday afternoon in stable condition.
Shortly after the report was made, police said officers had cause to stop a man on a motorbike on Finch Drive, West Bay. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and taken into custody.
Centennial Towers shooting
At around 2am, police responded to a report of shots fired at Centennial Towers, near the four-way stop on West Bay Road.
Police said it was reported that two men entered the carpark on foot from the direction of Boggy Sands, and opened fire towards two other men in the parking lot. Bullets struck a building and a vehicle, but no one was injured.

The suspects fled the scene in a black Honda Fit, the RCIPS said in a press release.
A Firearms Response Unit that was in the vicinity intercepted the car on Finch Drive, West Bay, and arrested the two occupants of the vehicle – a 24-year-old man, and a 41-year-old man, both of West Bay – on suspicion of attempted murder.
They remain in custody as investigations continue, police said.
“In response to the two firearms incidents that occurred in the last 24 hours, high visibility police units and armed units will be patrolling the West Bay district to provide public reassurance and ensure the safety of the community,” the RCIPS said.
