The Turtle Crawl 5K Walk/Run returns on Sunday, 8 June, in support of green sea turtle and other wildlife conservation. The fifth annual event begins and ends at the Cayman Turtle Centre in West Bay, welcoming seasoned runners and casual walkers to participate in the family fun.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Turtle Centre’s efforts to protect marine and terrestrial species in Cayman. Past funds have supported the release of turtle hatchlings into the wild, supported white-crowned pigeons, and advanced wildlife education and medical care.

“Every year since the inception of this walk/run, we’ve seen the community show up and support in so many meaningful ways, and we’re proud to be promoting our 5th annual event,” said turtle centre veterinarian Vandanaa Baboola in a press release.

Participants will receive a Turtle Crawl T-shirt and have the chance to win prizes. They will also enjoy a special admission rate to the turtle centre on race day of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

The race begins at 6:30am on Sunday and registration is $25. Participants can register in advance online.
