A man has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately driving his car into a man on a scooter, causing serious injuries after the pair had an argument.

Police said the rider suffered “potentially life-threatening injuries” in the alleged incident and that the driver had fled the scene.

The injured man was rushed to the Anthony S. Eden Hospital in George Town and is still being treated.

Police said inquiries revealed the driver of the car, a Honda Acura, had been involved in “an altercation” with the rider before the crash.

The 45-year-old driver was arrested after he went to West Bay Police Station with injuries he claimed to have suffered in a fight with the scooter rider.
