A cruise ship passenger was found dead Wednesday afternoon in the Coral Gardens area of North Sound near Stingray City.
Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers reported that the 56-year-old man was reported unconscious and unresponsive in the water. He was found by people in a boat who were travelling nearby.
The boaters lifted the man into their vessel and tried to revive him with no luck.
The Marine Unit craft ‘Tornado’ transported the man to the Yacht Club where paramedics transported him to hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
It was not immediately clear how the man came to be in the waters off Coral Gardens and police said they were still investigating the incident.
