Ganja and phones found at prison

Prison authorities found more than 2 pounds of what was described as “vegetable matter resembling ganja” and two cell phones on the perimeter of Northward Prison on Tuesday morning, 26 February.

Officers carrying out inspections of the exterior perimeter of the prison in Grand Cayman found the contraband shortly before 8am, prior to the time when some prisoners are allowed out to work around the prison perimeter and farm.

The suspected drugs were handed over to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service for further investigations.
