Locals are quickly jumping on the idea of playing football indoors.
The Digicel co-ed Five-A-Side football league recently completed its sixth week of play. Ten teams are battling it out every weekend at Kings Sports Centre until the summer.
So far, two teams have jumped out to an early lead in the standings. Samson & McGrath, led by scoring duo James Kennedy and Declan Cassidy, are on top with four wins and 13 points. Meanwhile South Coast Sharks, with powerful striker Chris Ebanks, are right behind with four wins and 12 points.
The league, which started in February, has even produced noteworthy scorers. Jeremy Seymour leads all players with 14 goals while the aforementioned Chris Ebanks and James Kennedy are right behind with 11 and 10 goals respectively.

Ray Singh, Athletic Director at Kings Sports Centre, says the rest of the season should produce even more solid play.
‘We have just hit the half-way point of the season and the league is starting to shape up very nicely. I’m looking forward to an exciting second half of the season.’
