Minor injury in container fire

A container fire in George Town around mid-day sent a construction worker to hospital with smoke inhalation injuries.

According to fire crews, a storage container loaded with electrical
supplies such as wires, lights, bulbs and plugs caught
fire after a construction worker was carrying out some welding repairs on the
roof of the container.

The container was located just off the Butterfield roundabout on North Sound Way.

Fire crews said the sparks from the welding fire caught the boxes inside
and cause a fire.

The construction worker apparently tried to enter the container to put the flames out
but could not do so and the fire department was called in. The worker left to go
to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
