Cayman’s post office will now be open Saturdays.
All 15 post offices will be open from 9am to 12.30pm, starting this Saturday.
Earlier this year the Cayman Islands Postal Service conducted a survey titled ‘Help Us Wake Up and Smell the Coffee’ asking customers, among other things, if they would like the post office to open its doors to the public on Saturday again. The public response was a resounding yes, said a CIPS press release.
Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow assured postal customers that all facilities will be operating fully.
‘I would like to thank the Collector of Customs Carlon Powery for working with us so that customers will be able to clear parcels at the Airport Post Office on a Saturday as a Customs Officer will be on duty.
‘I hope that our customers will take advantage of this opportunity to conduct their postal business and try some of our value-added services on Saturdays,’ she said.
CIPS’s value-added services allow Cable & Wireless customers to pay their phone bills, purchase a phone or e-TopUp their cell phones. Digicel customers can top up their cell phones as well. CIPS also collects garbage fees.
On Grand Cayman customers can pay their CUC bills, while customers on the Sister Islands can pay their insurance premium for CINICO.
