Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers arrested three men and seized a loaded firearm and ganja at a home in Bodden Town on Saturday morning, 16 July.
According to a statement issued by police on Monday, officers conducted a search of a residence on Pedro Castle Road during which they recovered the firearm, along with a quantity of ammunition, and several packages of ganja.
Following the search, three Bodden Town men at the location, ages 44, 26 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as for drug offences.
The 44-year-old man has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition.
He appeared in court Monday afternoon, and was remanded pending a further appearance on 21 July.
Police said the other two men have been granted bail as investigations continue.
