Two men arrested in connection with the murder of Divonte Hernandez made separate appearances before different courts on Friday morning.
The first defendant, Maurice Ray Chin, of Bodden Town, appeared before the Summary Court via video link from Northward Prison.

Chin, 22, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. However, he has not been charged with that offence and remains in custody on a separate charge of possession of a prohibited weapon.
“I should stress that my client remains in custody for a restricted weapon, which has nothing to do with the murder allegation,” said Chin’s attorney, Amelia Fosuhene, while appearing before Chief Magistrate Valdis Foldats.
According to Fosuhene, a bail application, which is pending, will not be brought until police have completed their review of Chin’s mobile phone.
“Police have made it clear that they intend to question Mr. Chin regarding the contents of his phone,” said Fosuhene. “Therefore, if he is bailed he will be re-arrested to allow police a chance to question him about the said contents.”
Fosuhene also represents Sean Austin Conolly Amaya, of George Town, who is the only suspect who has been arrested and charged with Hernandez’s shooting.
Amaya, 24, who also made an appearance via video link from Northward, was before the Grand Court, having appeared before the Summary Court on Monday, 9 Oct.
“We are not in a position to enter any pleas at this time, as I have only received a copy of the indictment, and no disclosure,” Fosuhene told Justice Cheryll Richards who presided over Friday’s brief hearing.
Both defendants were remanded into custody and are expected to return to court in two weeks time.

A search continues for George Senior, the third murder suspect, who has not yet been located.
Cayman Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to any member of the public who can provide information that will lead to Senior’s arrest, charge or conviction.

Hernandez, 24, of George Town, was gunned down in broad daylight on 29 Sept. in a parking lot off Sound Way in the vicinity of the Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road intersection.
