The Cayman Islands Sailing Club is set to mark a historic milestone this year as it hosts the 60th anniversary of its annual Easter Regatta.

The Cayman Islands Sailing Club (CISC), founded in 1965, gears up for a North Sound Regatta in celebration of its 60th anniversary.

The Cayman Islands Sailing Club secured two podium places during the 33rd annual Jammin regatta in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The Cayman Islands Sailing Club hosted the AIMA Youth Regatta for both Optimist and Laser classes on Oct. 28 on the North Sound.

Cayman Opti sailors represented the territory at the British Nationals regatta in Weymouth, England, and at the Irish Optimist championships in Dublin this month.

In the March 22, 1967 edition of the Caymanian Weekly, a precursor of the Cayman Compass, news from George Town included:“The third annual regatta, sponsored by the Cayman Islands Hotel Association, was held Saturday, March 18, off the Beach Club Colony."

A Day at the Races is not a term that can be used in its usual context in Cayman as we have no horse racing but we did have OUR ‘day at the races’ on Saturday last when many enjoyed participating in the Regatta organized by the C.I. Hotel Association.
