The People’s Progressive Movement’s Bodden Town candidates, Osbourne Bodden, Charles Clifford and Anthony Eden last weekend continued their efforts to repair damaged homes and assist with the clean up efforts in Bodden Town in partnership with sponsors and contractors.
The materials for the weekend work were sponsored by Mr. Tony Powell of the Breakers Community Group and Mr. Emile Scott. The Scott brothers, Arney, Anthony, Stanley and Burns again donated the labour.
Mr. Powell sponsored the material for Mr. Joseph Powell’s home in Breakers and Mr. Emile Scott donated the shingles that were applied to Messrs Stalin and Charley Berry’s home in central Bodden Town.
The Bodden Town PPM candidates made the following joint statement, ‘Our rebuilding programme is picking up momentum since we first announced it several weeks ago. We have had additional donors and we are grateful to them for their kindness and sense of civic responsibility. There is much more work to be done and we do require more donations of labour, material and equipment. The work crews are expected to be in Savannah and Newlands next.’
