West Bay candidates at the Chamber of Commerce Forum Wednesday night were just getting warmed up when the lights went out.
A power outage hit West Bay, as well as other parts of the island, but CUC did not respond to queries about details by press time.
After only three questions and about 30 minutes of responses, the electricity was lost. The chamber waited for about 11/4 hours for power to return before finally cancelling the event.
The candidates – Mario Ebanks, West Bay Alliance; John Jefferson Sr., independent; McKeeva Bush, United Democratic Party; and Cadian Ebanks, independent – agreed to join West Bay forums scheduled later in the month.
Two candidates will be added to the 22 April meeting and two will join the 29 April forum.
According to chamber rules for these forums, there can be no more than two candidates from the same party at each session, so the organizers will adjust the panels accordingly.
An announcement will be made as to who will appear when, once the candidates check their schedules.
